Several last-of-its-kind treasures call Mystic their home.
The Mystic Seaport Museum is a must-see while you are here! The 1807 Williams Home rooms are named after maritime trades. The museum is home to five National Historic Landmark vessels: Charles W. Morgan- last whaling ship, Sabino Coal Steamer- last in regular operation in the U.S., L.A. Dunton, Joseph Conrad, and the Emma C. Berry. Our property next door to the 1807 Williams Home & Smith Cottage, the 1784 Denison Home, offers 5 guest rooms, all named in honor of these five vessels at the Mystic Seaport. The Carriage House, our newest offering behind the Denison Home in Old Mystic, has rooms themed after historic people of the time.
Also, Mystic is home to Clyde’s Cider Mill- the oldest steam power cider mill in the U.S. This special mill draws crowds in the fall to see the steam engine in action.
There’s just something special about Mystic~ it’s a one-of-a-kind place!

1. Please check everywhere to ensure you have 100% of your precious items. (i.e., look in draws, under pillows/covers, under beds/chairs/couch)
2. Check the fridge to be sure you’re not leaving behind any food or tasty leftovers you’d like to nibble on later, and toss any opened food into the trash bin.
3. Please wash any used dishes in the dishwasher upon checkout.
4. Please place any garbage/recyclables from the kitchen, bedrooms, and common rooms in the outside trash bins next to the shed by the stone wall.
5. Please place all wet/used towels on the washing machine.
6. Please return moved furniture and moved items to their original locations.

8. If using the air conditioners and it’s warm outside, please turn the the units to 72 degrees.

10. Please turn off the lights.
11. And please lock the door as you leave.
12. Most importantly, travel safely to your next destination!
NOTE: Please understand that late check-out and early check-in are very difficult to accommodate- especially in the summertime, as our cleaning and disinfecting procedures are time-consuming.
PETS
We are dog-friendly! We understand how travel for many has changed, and bringing along dogs can make things easier for you.
2 small/medium DOGS (NO CATS OR OTHER ANIMALS ALLOWED)
We charge a $75.00 DOG fee/pet requested at the time of booking. We hope you find this fee fair and reasonable as we take on additional responsibilities by adding furry guests to your reservation.
To ensure a smooth experience, we ask owners to bring along DOGS with the following understanding.
1. Dogs are 100% house-trained. Traveling DOGS can get anxious and confused, causing accidents even for a house-trained dog.
***If your dog pees inside, this will cause a great deal of confusion for future dogs staying at Burrows Home as they may pee on top of your dog’s pee, causing upset for everyone. When arriving, please immediately introduce the yard to your dog to establish where the potty is located.***
2. DOGS are well-behaved and good-natured.
3. DOGS are not left alone for more than a few hours.
4. DOGS are crated or quarantined, so they don’t roam freely throughout the property when left alone.
5. Owners clean up outside after their DOGS
6. Owners keep their DOG on a leash when appropriate, as Mystic is a busy place.
We’ve had wonderful experiences accommodating traveling DOGS! However, if your DOG damages any property, we will use your security deposit to cover the cost (though this hasn’t happened yet:)
Many shops in Mystic are pet-friendly, and some restaurants allow outdoor seating for pets. Haley’s Farm and Coogan Farm have great trails for families and pets.
Please send us your DOG’S information; name, type of animal, shedding or non-shedding, and weight so we can better welcome them. We appreciate pictures of those little critters, too!

ANTIQUE HOMES
~ As Capt. Burrows Home is circa 1810, the floorboards are wide and do move and creak a bit, but I think it adds to an antique home’s charm and character. Also, you may hear the steam radiators make a soft whistle from time to time as they heat up
~ With wooden houses, sometimes doors stick and need a push or a pull, as wood naturally expands and contracts with the New England weather.
~ Original glass windows can be drafty in the wintertime.
IMPORTANT
