Be our guests at the “Life Saver Room,” a private bedchamber in the Carriage House located in the peaceful hamlet of Old Mystic near the head of the Mystic River, only a 2 mi drive to Mystic Seaport Museum, shops, and restaurants. The Life Saver Room has a private bathroom and a private exterior entrance. Cozy up to a gas fireplace on cold nights, sleep soundly on a comfy queen pencil bed, dressed in lovely linens, and wake up rested to a beautiful mural! Treat yourself to something special!
We also have guests who stay in our front red property, the 1784 Denison Home. We ask that you park in front of the Carriage House and our other guests park behind the Denison Home.
The Sailor’s Room is our four-legged sailor-friendly room, so you may see a dog while staying.

~ Mystic Train Station 3.0 miles
~ Mystic Seaport Museum and area restaurants are a short 2-mile drive down the road.
~ Old Mystic is car-dependent, so if you take the train, you’ll need to plan on having an Uber for transportation.
~ Guests can also consider bike riding on River Rd. when the weather is nice.
~ We plan to offer seasonal bike rentals onsite by Mystic Adventure Outdoor Rental and Retail Store during warmer months. Please inquire about availability.
My husband and I live in Mystic, a 5-minute drive from Old Mystic. Even though you are set up for self-check-in, you may see one of us around watering plants, taking out trash bins, etc. But rest assured, we are harmless and will respect your space and privacy. If you seek answers, would like suggestions, or even meet us, we are here for you and delight in sharing this lovely little village with visitors! Located in the original colonial settlement of Mystic, the Carriage House property is a short ride- two miles to sightseeing and Mystic eateries.
Do you desire a day to relax after traveling? Walk across the street to the Old Mystic Country Store, one of the oldest continuously run general stores in CT, for a tasty bite. (Please note: the Country Store is temporarily closed and will open soon under new ownership)
Grab one of our blankets and have lunch on our lawn.
If you enjoy walking, jogging, or biking as part of your getaway, the scenic River Road is just around the corner across the little bridge.
Ready to go out and explore? Spend a day at the Mystic Seaport Museum and immerse yourself in maritime history. See the ships, buildings, and trades that inspired our room names in our adjacent properties; Carriage House, 1784 Denison Home, and 1807 Williams Home.
Spend a day exploring the Mystic Aquarium and make a date with one of the Beluga Whales.
Are you craving a beach day? Pack our beach bag and towels and head to a local beach or one of Rhode Island’s beaches- easily accessible within a 15-minute drive.
Venture out to one of the wineries or breweries for an afternoon.

The Mystic Seaport is a must-see while you are here! It is home to five National Historic Landmark vessels: Charles W. Morgan- the last whaling ship, Sabino Coal Steamer- last in regular operation in the U.S.; L.A. Dunton, Joseph Conrad, and the Emma C. Berry. Also, Mystic is home to Clyde’s Cider Mill- the oldest steam power cider mill in the U.S.

High ceilings in the Life Saver make the room feel spacious, and the half-circle window up top lets in lots of light- especially nice when days are short.
The front windows of this bedchamber overlook the gardens and gazebo. The field and stone walls out back are a lovely view too.
During your stay, you will have a mini fridge for your perishables and a Kuerig and coffee/tea supplies for your morning cup.
